Neighborhoods, towns and cities are shaped by their schools. Basic patterns of where people live and how people travel are often determined by schools. The need to build a new school may re-order these patterns and in turn change the financial needs and land use actions of a municipality. Our focus on the design of places that are dynamic and equitable has led us to the planning of schools.

The field of school planning has often been conducted by school administrators. At WXY, we bring a range of planning and design expertise to school planning. With GIS and demographic analysis, we are able to conduct enrollment projections and demographic analysis that understands the wider urban conditions. Our design skills and approach to outreach provide clear visual communications and inclusive engagement around challenging issues.
