Zipper Bench in Seoul
Our furniture systems reimagine everyday urban elements as adaptable design tools, giving architects and landscape designers the freedom to shape public space with fluid, sculptural forms that feel both intentional and intuitive.
The River Bench system allows landscape architects and designers to create organic geometries without engineering a bench system from scratch. The system is available with or without backs and with single orientation or back-to-back seating. The wood slats are designed as profiles to be cut using CAD driven technology and contoured for ergonomics. Using sixty-five percent less wood than comparable benches, the unique design of the slat minimizes the use of larger timbers and waste from cutting.
The sinuous Zipper Bench System allows designers the freedom to use seating as a sculptural landscape form. The design allows for seamless development from a bench with a back to backless for double or single seating. The Zipper Bench can be used as a large seating element and a multipurpose design element while smaller individual zipper benches could be used to create patterns and shadows in landscapes and plazas.
The curves of the cut plates and rods of the Z Rail System create a complex and fluid shadow pattern when placed near water bodies Available in stainless, powder coated or galvanized steel and the top rail can be steel pipe or made of wood. By combining an elliptical top rail with a simple rod and plate system, the need is eliminated for any intermediate framing. This results in a lightweight appearance that is both flowing and continuous.
The 2030 drinking fountain system is geared to outdoor spaces of all types, designed for year round use and does not require seasonal shut offs. Only plumbing for supply water is required and no drainage piping is needed, the design of the drinking fountain takes the waste water into a permeable planted or gravel area drain allowing for the most sustainable approach to recharging of ground water while avoiding the problem of clogged drains. The drinking fountain is available in cast iron as well as cast aluminum.
