The Rockaway Parks Conceptual Plan reimagines a fractured shoreline as a living system, where parks act as flood protection, habitat corridors, and cultural anchors, blurring the line between infrastructure and public space.

The Rockaway Parks Conceptual Plan is an initiative to establish a planning and urban design framework for the Rockaway’s parks and open space. This study aims to establish a unified and sustainable visionfor all NYCDPR properties with the potential to provide new recreational and educational opportunities, while restoring natural habitats and improving storm resiliency. The Plan is an effort commissioned bythe DPR and the NYCEDC as part of the wider Rockaway Boardwalk Reconstruction project.
