By combining market research, policy insight, and on-the-ground planning, we shaped a new model of shared electric vehicle use that linked climate goals with housing, aiming to reduce car dependency while increasing equitable access to clean transportation.

As an amenity offered only to building residents, the program allows users to conveniently reserve a BMWi vehicle for short-term use, reducing the need for personal car ownership while promoting EV usage.

E-mobility Cell Visualization

Shared and on-demand mobility services have the potential to reduce car ownership, congestion, and emissions. WXY worked with BMW of North America and their mobility innovation division, ReachNow, to develop a novel residential car sharing model and pilot within one of New York City’s greenest residential high-rise buildings.

WXY also worked with BMW on a streetscape design and visualization for an “E-mobility Cell” — an on-street deployment of multiple BMW Light & Charge units controlled via a kiosk unit, DC fast charging stations, and dedicated EV parking spots.
