New York City needs more housing, which is why WXY is collaborating with NYC Department of Buildings , NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County, and the NYC Mayor's Office to increase resources for ADUs in NYC.

We're supporting the launch of a Pre-Approved Plan Library (PAPL) that can serve as a resource for homeowners looking to build their very own ADU. We need great designs for the PAPL, and want you, a designer, builder, or architect, to make a submission!

A quick FYI, the Registered Design Professional (RDP—a NY State Licensed Architect or Engineer) associated with the pre-approved designs retains ownership of their design and all associated intellectual property rights. All submitted drawing sets must comply with NYC Zoning Regulations and Construction Codes and be stamped by an RDP.

Key dates for your PAPL submission:

• Submit initial questions to preapprovedadu@buildings.nyc.gov by 5pm on August 22nd → Responses sent week of August 29th
• Design submission window opens September 8th and closes September 26th
• Final deadline: All submissions due by September 26th
