We're inviting Brooklyn-based artists and community organizations to submit qualifications for a new public mural at the Brooklyn Wholesale Meat Market. The mural will be part of a broader effort to integrate art and cultural expression into public-facing industrial sites in Sunset Park.

The opportunity is part of a cohesive cultural strategy developed by WXY in collaboration the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) with Debra Simon Art Consulting for NYCEDC–owned assets in the Sunset Park neighborhood. The selected artist or organization will create a mural that reflects the area’s history, community, and evolving public realm.

Artists and organizations are asked to submit CVs and portfolios by January 23, 2026. Questions may be submitted to art@wxystudio.com by January 9, with responses issued January 16.
